How are Indirect Costs or F&A distributed under RBB?
In Arts & Sciences, F&A will be distributed as follows:
1% taken off the top for Unemployment
Remaining: 50% department; 50% College
What specific commitments am I expected to cover from the F&A that is distributed to my department?
50% of startup packages, including renovations
Who pays for Summer 2009 Instructor (s-contracts) costs?
Special Sessions will pay for s-contracts for the instructors for courses offered in the first 5 week session and the 7 ½ week session for summer 2009 and all Study Abroad for Summer 2009. The College will be responsible for paying for the instructor (s-contract) costs for the 2nd 5 week session for summer of 2009. The college will pay for these costs for all of Summer 2010.
Who pays for the costs for Summer Enrichment and Summer College?
Special Sessions will continue to pay for Summer Enrichment and Summer College costs.
How are my minors counted?
Currently student counts of minors are not included in RBB expense allocations. However, the college does receive tuition revenue generated by its courses, which include those that are taught as part of a minor program.
How will the charging of Fringe Benefits change under RBB?
Fringe Benefits will now be charged for all salaries for Professionals, Salaried Staff, Faculty, and Graduate Students. The university has an internal rate and an external rate for fringe benefits.

My department received Block Tuition Semesters in the past, will these continue?
For FY10 the Block Tuition semesters will continue to be allocated as part of your department Budget memo. The number your department will receive will be listed on this document.
My department received Block Fellowships in the past, will these continue?
Effective FY09, Block Fellowships were rolled into the department block budget amounts and are no longer a separate line item.

How will interdisciplinary grants be counted in RBB?
Interdisciplinary grants should be split among the departments as appropriate to the grant. In order to have these grants count towards the college research incentive portion of revenue in RBB, it will be important that the budgets and expenditures be split among the participating departments.

To help ensure that the appropriate resources are allocated to your department, it will be important that revenue streams are allocated correctly to the college. Please follow these simple steps to ensure the best outcomes:

RBB is a data-driven system, for allocation of both revenues and expenses. Some examples of where you can help:
S-contracts are processed with correct course information and funding.
SIS Instructor of Record is correct.
Graduate Contracts have the correct funding and tuition codes.
Grant Activity is correctly reflected for your faculty/department
