Master of Arts in Liberal Studies
The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) program is a continuation of the voyage of discovery that begins when we read our first book: an opportunity for mature adults to further their own intellectual growth and savor the delights of learning for its own sake. The MALS program emphasizes the history of ideas and the connections between fields of learning, encouraging a multidisciplinary approach to knowledge. Thus it is not like traditional graduate programs, which usually focus on a single discipline and have specific vocational objectives.
