The impedance of the load is (25 - j 26.5) ohm. Don't forget the line resistance in addition.
[Revised fourth edition states 0.1 mF capacitance, wherease the orginal fourth edition states 0.1 microF. Please use 0.1 mF, which is 100 microF.)

Hint:
Calculate the real and reactive power for each appliance and add to find the apparent power.

Ans:
The complex power is 2070 VA \/ 29 deg.

Chapter 4
Exercise 53:

Hint:
The net impedance of the middle branch is j19; the right branch has impedance of 5 + j2. Use nodal analysis.

Ans:
The current through the resistor is 5.27A  \/ 13.4 deg.
